Walking in Galapagos Islands

Walking

Walking is going to feature heavily in any Galapagos trip, even on the cruises. When you arrive on the islands each is very different and you will follow the paths with your guide to see a large area of the island. On the younger islands you will walk on the rough bare volcanic lava. It is extremely sharp so you need to be careful - having a stick is a good idea.

Then there are the walks on sand paths where sandals are appropriate. As you walk around the islands you will encounter so much wildlife and fauna that you need your camera at the ready at all times. For clients wanting a fuller walking tour we can arrange this on Isabela Island. You would stay in a local hotel and have 2, 3 or 4 days walking all over the island. We are happy to discuss and book specialised walking tours for your trip.

It was great how we were always told what foot wear was required for the next island visit - boots or sandals.
