Khajuraho

Khajuraho - The fascinating Khajuraho Group of Monuments are a group of Hindu and Jain temples in the State of Madhya Pradesh; another of the notable World Heritage Sites in India. Famous for their Nagara-style architectural symbolism and their erotic sculptures, the temples' sculptural arts cover numerous aspects of human life and values considered important in Hindu culture. Whilst famous for their erotic sculpture, these cover less than 10% of the temples and the visitor will be impressed by the rich display of intricately carved statues on temples that are grouped into three geographical divisions, created by hundreds of highly skilled sculptors and laying hidden until their 'rediscovery' in the 1830s by a British surveyor, T.S. Burt.
