Train Journeys

There are some train journey options through some of the most beautiful parts of Peru. A choice of routes are available - between either historic Cusco, or the Sacred Valley, and the legendary Machu Picchu, or between Cusco and the marvellous Lake Titicaca. The various trains suit a range of travelling budgets including the comfortable Backpacker trains, the Vistadome trains with spectacular panoramic windows and the luxurious Hiram Bingham train dedicated to providing an impeccable service on the route Cusco to Machu Picchu.

A lovely treat is taking the train journey is between Cusco and Puno on the Andean Explorer. This train is styled on the Pullman trains of the 1920's and extremely elegant. An open-air Observation Bar Car adds to the enjoyment along this beautiful route, and provides the opportunity for magnificent photographs of the scenery. On the journey passengers are served a three course lunch in the dining car, followed by coffee served in the Observation-Bar Car. During the ten hour train ride not only the scenery will change between mountains and rolling plains, but also the climate will alter.
