Under India’s spell again

India has a way of making you believe in mystical powers whether its fate, karma or destiny and that’s what we thought when a last minute opportunity to return to India happened the day after getting our Indian Visa through for a different trip later in the year. So how could we say no!

Having specifically designed this trip for 10 days around India’s famous ‘Golden Triangle’ it was really great to experience it ourselves and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. Despite the short time, we visited Delhi, Agra and the monument of love – The Taj Mahal; Ranthambore in wonderful tented accommodation with safari drives – seeing tiger twice out of three safaris; Jaipur with its Amber Fort and then a lovely relaxing time in the beautiful Samode Palace, before returning to Delhi. Although I would always recommend spending more time in India whether it’s to see other amazing sights or to have time to relax on a beach; at least it gives you the most fantastic experience without being totally exhausting

India always seems to be place that, for many, conjures up a lot of problems that often put people off travelling there but believe it or not it is actually becoming much easier. You can now apply for a 30 day tourist visa online, and it actually works! Not only have I sorted our own visas but I have also had to help our son get one so I have become a bit of an old hand at it. I’m happy to help anyone who might struggle. This trip was in a malaria free area so there was no need to take Malarone, which we so appreciated – not only cost wise but not having to pump our bodies full of chemicals. The roads have definitely improved (not necessarily other Indian drivers) but our driver was an absolute gem and looked after us throughout the trip. Nothing was ever too much trouble and his driving was impeccable.

So if you have ever thought you might like to go to India and of course I would highly recommend it, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me – even if it’s just to talk through the wonderful possibilities.  Telephone No 01202 232335  mailto:cherrie@worldwideholidays.co.uk
